Watford African Caribbean Association, Our Legacy in our won words

Our Legacy In Our Own Words

Often it is easy to forget our journey when we have arrived at our destination. This collection of writings from our Elders Project is a reminder of such journeys. It is an account of courage, fortitude, perseverance but most of all triumph. It is a reminder to younger people that forbearance is the 'mother of success'.

Watford African Caribbean Association, Childhood Memories

Childhood Memories

This is the second book in a series of anthologies produced by the members of The African Caribbean Elders Elders Project (TACEP). While the previous book 'Our Legacy In Our Own Words' focused on life in Britain, 'Childhood Memories' recaptures early life in the Caribbean.

Watford African Caribbean Association, A journey in History, Slavery and its abolition

A Journey In History: Slavery And Its Abolition

This publication is a replication of our exhibition - 'A Journey In History: Slavery And Its Abolition' held at the Watford Museum from mid June to the end of August 2007. This was conceived as part of the bicentenary anniversary of the Abolition of Slavery Act 1807. It aims to educate not only about the history of slavery, but about Britain's involvement and some of the legacies prevalent today. It is also designed for use by educators and students as a workbook with review questions at the end of each chapter.
