TACEP was started in September 1995 as a voluntary group for and run by African and Caribbean Elders. The group offers culturally sensitive and appropriate services to its members to assist in enhancing the quality of their lives.
The key aims and objectives are:

To provide a meeting place for African and Caribbean people
•
To identify common problems within the African and Caribbean community
•
To maintain cultural activities and to stimulate debate
•
To provide physical and mental stimulation
•
To provide a link with the youth within the community
•
To form a basis for Community Care work
•
To provide support for Diabetes
In supporting the senior members of the African Caribbean Community in Watford and the surrounding area, the group helps in:
•
Combating isolation
•
Providing a break for carers
•
Providing physical and mental stimulation
•
Encouraging friendship and unity
•
Providing a meeting place
•
Disseminating and exchanging information, and
•
Promoting advocacy and self-advocacy.
•
The projects highlighted here are The African Caribbean Elders Project (TACEP) and the Luncheon Club.
